Trends may
come and go but there's no stopping a great sandwich. Obviously,
we're a little biased. But we do want to help you make a smart
career choice. An important factor in that decision is just how
competitive your new restaurant will be - not just now but also
in the future. McAlister's Deli serves up salads, spuds, soups
and desserts. Mostly, though, we're known for our sandwiches.
That's a menu item which has been popular since 1765 when John
Montague (otherwise known as the Earl of Sandwich) first slapped
a piece of beef between two slices of bread. So while it might
be tempting to go with the restaurant concept du jour, we suggest
choosing a place whose only theme is really outstanding food.
Our uniforms are comfortable,
casual and don't provoke laughter in public. Polyester jumpsuits?
Multicolored suspenders? Not in this lifetime! Our work attire
features items you won't be ashamed to hang in your own closet,
like khaki pants, knit shirts and tees. Hey, our concept didn't
come from some power-tie wearing executive. It was a dentist from
Oxford, Mississippi. Our atmosphere may be casual but our approach
to business is anything but. We're one of the fastest growing
restaurant chains in the Southeast, with plans to go from coast
to coast. And you can bet we won't be slowing down anytime soon.
We don't serve breakfast.
Or booze. It's a great deal for people who appreciate their sleep.
Most folks need about eight hours of shut-eye every night. So
what happens when your last call is 2:00 a.m. and then you're
up again with the bacon-and-eggs crew? Zombification. Fortunately,
at McAlister's, our days run a merciful 12 hours or less. To us
quality of life is very important. Our employees receive good
benefits and competitive pay. Our working environment is clean
and comfortable (no deep fryers and only minimal cooking). And
we prepare all manager recruits with an extensive training program,
in both restaurant and classroom environments. It's challenging
but we promise there will be no all-nighters.
